Rwanda's 2026 dividend season belongs to its two flagship domestic listings — and both delivered big raises. BK Group, parent of Bank of Kigali, the country's largest lender, paid a total of RWF 53.04 per share for FY2025 (an RWF 11.2 interim in January plus an RWF 41.84 final in June) — an 80% increase on the prior year and a record RWF 49.6 billion distribution. Bralirwa, the Heineken-group brewer of Primus and Mützig, declared RWF 41.63 per share, up from RWF 35.96.

This tracker covers RSE-listed companies with dividend events in 2026, verified against company declarations and AGM notices.

## Company Notes

BK Group — RWF 53.04 total for FY2025. Bank of Kigali is Rwanda's banking system in miniature: the largest lender by assets, branches and profits, and the RSE's anchor listing (with a cross-listing in Nairobi). FY2025 net profit jumped 29% to RWF 110 billion, and the board responded by raising the payout ratio to 45% — a total distribution of RWF 49.6 billion, up 80% per share on the year. The final tranche of RWF 41.84 went to shareholders on the register at May 15.

Bralirwa — RWF 41.63 final. The Heineken-majority brewer — Primus, Mützig, Amstel, plus Coca-Cola bottling for Rwanda — remains the RSE's consumer bellwether. Its FY2025 dividend of RWF 41.63 (book close May 31, paid July 15) was roughly a full-profit payout of its RWF 42 billion year and continues an unbroken run of rising distributions. Bralirwa was the RSE's first listing in 2011.

## What Stood Out This Season

Payout ratios are rising. BK Group deliberately lifted its payout ratio to 45%, and Bralirwa distributed essentially everything it earned. Rwanda's two anchors are turning strong profit growth directly into shareholder cash — a maturing-market signal.

The domestic pair carries the market. The RSE lists ten equities, but most are Kenyan cross-listings whose dividends are declared and paid on the Nairobi board. For income earned from Rwandan operations, BK Group and Bralirwa are the season — with MTN Rwanda the name to watch for future declarations.

## How Rwanda's Dividend Tax Works

Rwanda's standard withholding tax on dividends is 15% — but dividends on securities listed on the Rwanda Stock Exchange attract a reduced 5% rate for residents of Rwanda and the East African Community. It is one of Africa's most deliberate capital-markets incentives.
