Frequently asked questions

Is the Mansa Markets API really free for personal use?

Yes — the Standard tier is free forever, 100 requests/day, no credit card. Covers all 20 tracked African exchanges. Commercial use and data redistribution require the Professional tier.

What counts as commercial use?

Anything that monetizes Mansa data — embedding live prices in a paid product, redistributing the API responses through your own service, or building a paid feature on top. Internal research, side projects, and educational use all stay on Standard.

How do I get an API key?

Standard keys are issued by email after a quick request to hello@mansamarkets.com. Professional keys are provisioned automatically after Paddle checkout. Enterprise contracts are signed bilaterally.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Yes — change plans any time from your account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.

How are payments processed?

Payments are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles VAT, local taxes, FX conversion, fraud screening, and chargebacks. You see one charge from Paddle on your statement.

What's your refund policy?

If the Professional tier doesn't meet your needs in the first 14 days, email hello@mansamarkets.com and we'll refund in full. After 14 days, prorated refunds are available on a case-by-case basis.

What exchanges does the API cover?

NGX (Nigeria), GSE (Ghana), NSE (Kenya), JSE (South Africa), MSE (Malawi), RSE (Rwanda), EGX (Egypt), CSE (Morocco), BRVM (West Africa), DSE (Tanzania), LuSE (Zambia), BSE (Botswana), USE (Uganda), ZSE (Zimbabwe), SEM (Mauritius), ESE (Eswatini), BVC (Cape Verde), SGBV (Algeria), BVMT (Tunisia), and NSX (Namibia).

How fresh is the data?

API data updates every 30 minutes during each exchange's market hours. After close, the data reflects official end-of-day figures. Every response includes an updated_at timestamp.

Need something different?

We build custom data feeds for asset managers, banks, and development banks. Webhook delivery, SFTP drops, country-specific coverage, on-prem options — all available on Enterprise.
