Namibia's local board is quietly one of Africa's best income markets. The 2026 season has already produced declarations from five primary-listed companies — the two big banks' holding companies, the Bank Windhoek parent, the dominant telecom and the flagship REIT — with the banks yielding near 10% on trailing payouts. All of it in Namibia dollars, pegged 1:1 to the rand.
This tracker covers NSX primary-listed companies with dividend events in 2026, verified against results announcements and dividend notices.
Quick summary:
- 7 dividend events from 5 companies so far in 2026: FNB Namibia, SBN Holdings, Capricorn Group, MTC (twice) and Oryx Properties.
- The banking trio dominates: FNB Namibia's 221.77-cent interim, SBN's 78-cent final (142c for the year) and Capricorn's 58-cent interim were all declared within ten days of each other in late February/early March.
- MTC pays twice: a 62.28-cent final in February and a 47.78-cent interim due 24 July.
- Namibia levies no dividend withholding on residents; non-residents pay Non-Resident Shareholders' Tax (NRST), typically 10%.

## Company Notes
FNB Namibia — 221.77c interim. FirstRand Namibia grew half-year profit 15% to N$1.07 billion and declared the local board's biggest interim, at dividend cover of 1.8× — the top of its target range. With roughly N$5.68 per share distributed over the trailing year, the stock yields around 10% at the current ~N$55.54 price.
SBN Holdings — 78c final, 142c total. Standard Bank Namibia's parent lifted FY2025 profit to N$1.19 billion and its total payout to 142 cents (+2.9%), about N$742 million. At ~N$13.67 a share, that's also a near-10% yield — paid 15 May.
Capricorn Group — 58c interim. The Bank Windhoek parent posted N$920 million in half-year profit and paid 2 April. Together, the three banking groups' late-February declarations make the first week of March the heart of Namibia's income calendar.
MTC — 62.28c + 47.78c. Namibia's dominant mobile operator is the board's steadiest payer, distributing twice a year; the July interim marks another increase in its half-year payout.
Oryx Properties — 58.5c distribution. The REIT's interim distribution rose 11.4%, driven by 16.8% net rental income growth including the Platz am Meer acquisition. REIT investors get most of their return as these distributions.
## What Stood Out This Season
Near-10% bank yields, in rand-pegged currency. FNB Namibia and SBN both yield close to double digits on trailing payouts — hard-currency-adjacent income (via the NAD/ZAR peg) at frontier-market yields, which is the quiet case for Windhoek's local board.
The late-February cluster. FNB, Capricorn and SBN all declared within days of each other. Mark the last week of February for 2027.
Payouts rising across the board. Every 2026 declaration tracked here was flat or up on its prior-year comparable — SBN +2.9%, Oryx +11.4%, MTC's interim up again.
## How Namibia's Dividend Tax Works
Namibian residents pay no withholding tax on dividends from Namibian companies. Non-resident shareholders pay NRST (Non-Resident Shareholders' Tax), generally 10% for individuals and qualifying corporate holders, deducted at source — treaty rates may reduce it further.
